Biography

Brittany Smith has been performing vocally since the age of 11 when she was asked to sing the national anthem for the Kingston Frontenacs home hockey game for an audience of 3000. She began singing in talent/variety shows and plays and was recognized in local newspapers. At 16 she became a member of the televised K-Town Star cast, and competed in the Kingston Teen Idol Fundraiser, where she placed 2nd. She learned by ear to play rhythmic guitar and keyboard, and later began formal lessons to improve upon her technique. When she was 17 she wrote, recorded, and co-produced a demo CD through the Demo program at NDSS in Napanee, where she learned about mixing and mastering music.

Brittany fronted a band by the name of “Kate”, which recorded and performed original music for local venues including the Memorial Centre. Her 15 years of experience in song writing and vocal performance has given her the expertise to guide other aspiring singer/songwriters, and help them to find their true voice.
