Biography

The STARES are a hard working Kingston band that pride themselves in giving an audience “a show”. Not only do we try to pick great songs but we also steer clear of the same boring old standard songs that far too many bands have been playing for far tooooo long!! We really believe our audience deserves better, so we try to come up with cool ideas that we would appreciate seeing a live band play. This might be “marrying” Superstition with Billie Jean or weaving New Orleans Is Sinkin with Livin On A Prayer or turning people onto an old Zeppelin acoustic tune like Bron-Y-Aur Stomp.

Having put some thought, practice & pride into our song choices has served us very well. We have been getting busier every year & new opportunities are always popping up for us. 2015 saw us basically playing every weekend in the clubs, out of town shows, 3 weddings, City of Kingston events (FebFest, Victoria Day, Poker Run, Canada Day, Music in The Park Series), Gananoque Boat Lines cruises, private parties, etc. We have the utmost respect for our audience & are always blown away by the love, energy & enthusiasm they share with us on any given night.

The STARES won’t EVER be a band that just stands still on stage, staring at their instruments. We all love playing in this band & feel very fortunate to be able to get up on a stage and share what we love doing!!! We’re always going to get up there and give people “a show”.
