Ted Evans is a singer-songwriter from Kingston, Ontario. Having played bass in a few groups over the years, he formed his own band at the start of 2015 as a frontman, in which he plays guitar and sings.
As a band, they play a their own style of Rockabilly/Punk. They touch on a wide variety of influences, but hold true to a classic feel.
Before diving into his first real solo project, Ted recorded at The Tragically Hip‘s “Bath House” Recording Studio with “Vorasek,” and went on to have 3 EPs and 2 singles with them. Ted is still active in Vorasek to this day.
Having written hundreds of songs over the years on bass and guitar, Ted began focusing more on guitar and vocals for his new project. He started writing songs in which he was the front man. This was a big turnaround for Ted’s songwriting, as he began to hone his lyrical style, and gain a better vision for his future as a performer, songwriter, and recording artist.
As quick as he could, Ted booked time at a local studio and went in to record his first single. With the help of the producer, and a few other session musicians, they released “Tell Yourself” under the name, “Ted Evans Band.”
Since then, Ted has assembled a rotating lineup of backing musicians for live shows, and began recording a debut EP. Their sound has transformed greatly into what Ted calls “punk meets old time rock and roll.”
