New song Light it Up! is getting a lot of attention. Watch out for Kath.
Kath grew up in Malvern, Scarborough, GTA, Ontario. She began writing songs at the age of 7. She began her classical music training at age 9, through the Scarborough Schools Concert, and later Youth, Choir, Scarborough Schools Music Camp, and later, instructors such as Barbara Dunn Prosser (former Phantom of the Opera lead in Toronto).
Highlights of her amateur career include; top 500 Children’s Voices Choir of Canada, Notre Dame Cathedral, Montreal PQ (1989), Nintendo Vocal Challenge local finalist (1990-3), CNE Rising Star Vocal Competition, CN Tower Vocal Challenge (2nd place), Hiliary Rogers Vocal Scholarship (1991), Sear’s Drama Award for Original Composition (1992), Performance of Original Song “One Sound” for the Canada 125 celebration at West Hill Collegiate, Opening for Georgette Fry on Canada Day 2002, Kingston Ontario (Page 2 of the Whig Standard) and several recording projects.
The child of a single mother, but with an arsenal of Canadian Establishment at her back due to lineage, Kath struggled to pursue her career her whole life. She worked 2 jobs or more through high school, college and after. Every extra penny was toward her dreams.
