The members of Gutter Honey have been playing together under various names for nearly a decade. Past incarnations of the trio experienced some local success and developed a small fan base. Despite the accomplishments the band dispersed for over a year before reforming in early ’09 with a fresh attitude and a new member. The band resolved to buckle down and give the music the time and dedication it deserved. “We want to give it one more shot before ‘real-life’ came calling.” The music is a mix of light to heavy rock, with a big emphasis on melody and harmonies. Influenced by many bands and artists ranging from Fiona Apple to Queens of the Stone Age. The band’s sound can be summed up by taking a literal look at the name. ” ‘Gutter’ represents some of the heavier stuff we write, while being balanced by the ‘Honey’ or lighter and more melodic songs.” Gutter Honey is currently writing and recording new material and booking shows in the Kingston/Ottawa area.
