Close to You features the talents of Jan Wilkins on vocals, Mark Wilkins on bass and vocals, Darrell Bryan on keyboards and vocals, and Duncan Holt on drums.
Jan has been singing the Carpenters music for as long as she can remember. Jan grew up singing in the church, at school, and with choral groups from Moncton to Vancouver. As a member of the folk group Wilkins she was nominated as one of the Best Folk artists in 2008 by the Independent Music Awards. Since 2017, Janice has been featured in the show Beautiful Noise celebrating music by the Carpenters and Neil Diamond with performances at the Firehall Theatre in Gananoque, the Brockville Arts Center, and Victoria Hall, Cobourg, Ontario. She also sings with the Kingston based choir She Sings.
Mark is known among the rock and roll scene for his past involvement in the Ontario based band, Photograph.After several years spent in the rock and roll wilderness of Northern Ontario, and the East Coast, his band The Elevators was discovered in a Shediac New Brunswick sea-side bar by Tom Cochrane of Red Rider and subsequently signed to Capitol records as Photograph and had moderate hits with “Last Dance” and “Blow Away.” Photograph opened for numerous well-known acts including April Wine, The Monks, and Blue Rodeo, and their second album was engineered by future legendary U2 producer Daniel Lanois. Highlights as a member of the folk group Wilkins include the release of their CD No Expiry Date and the live performance CD Live at the Bookstore Café.
Darrell has performed and taught in the UK, France, Germany, China, USA and Australia, and currently resides in Merrickville, Ontario. Darrell’s teaching has taken him to Australia where he taught music at The Scots School Albury as part of an international exchange initiative providing vocal coaching and musical direction for instrumental ensembles and chamber choirs. As a performer Darrell has sung with a number of choirs including the Nathaniel Dett Chorale (Toronto), Murray Conservatorium Choir (NSW, Australia), York Chamber Choir (Toronto), Kingston Chamber Choir (Kingston, ON), and Keele Bach Chorale (Staffordshire, UK). As a vocalist and pianist Darrell has performed in many productions of both classical and musical theatre works and plays at private functions throughout the year. Darrell is currently an adjunct instructor of music in The Dan School of Drama & Music at Queen’s University, Kingston specializing in teaching voice, choral direction, music theatre and music theory.
Duncan is an experienced drummer and has played for over forty years. He currently owns and runs a recording studio, Concept Audio, and has recorded popular artists such as, Avril Lavigne, Glorious Sons, The Abrams Brothers, and David Archibald. Along with being a top session drummer, Duncan also plays in local bands, The Rain Kings, Chris (from Pursuit of Happiness) and Dee, Georgette Fry’s Tribute to Etta James, Cliff Edwards (The Bells), and Jenica Rayne. Duncan gets great joy passing along his drumming knowledge to twenty-two of his students at the Kingston School of Music. His philosophies are to be a team player, and to never stop learning.

The Inbreds were a Canadian alternative rock band formed in 1992. Originally from Kingston, Ontario, the band relocated to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1996.
